ST. PETE BEACH, Fla. – January 28, 2021 – When local attorney Victoria Jones wanted a new name for her law firm, the typically daunting task was easy. Known as Jones and Hitt, the firm has provided wills, trusts, and estate planning for generations of families in the same location since the early 1950s. To the Stetson Law graduate who purchased the firm from estate attorney F. Richard Hitt five years ago, Generations of Trust seems a fitting name.
Now, after nearly 13 years of experience practicing law, Jones has decided to expand and renovate the Generation of Trust law offices at 433 76th Ave. in St. Pete Beach to coincide with the five-year anniversary of her purchase. Jones is also taking on her married name, Victoria Waller, after marrying her husband John Waller in April of 2016.
“The timing seems right to have something to celebrate,” says attorney Waller. “Plans for a ribbon-cutting celebration are underway, even if it needs to take place virtually. We owe much to the St. Pete Beach community for the growth of this law practice and I hope to reach out to all the families we worked with and everyone who contributed to our success over the years.”
As part of the anniversary celebration, Generations of Trust is encouraging people to share their stories and photos on Facebook or by contacting the office by mail or email. Family ties are stronger than ever before as people maneuver their way through the current pandemic, says Waller. The firm has seen an uptick in inquiries not only about wills and probate issues, but also advance directives and health care surrogate designation. Generations of Trust excels in working closely with families regarding instructions for loved and trusted individuals, particularly for situations when people are not able to make decisions for themselves.
The original law firm was founded in 1948 by Arthur T. Ratcliffe, Esq. and is the oldest firm in continuous practice in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Ratcliffe sold his business to Hitt in 1980, although he continued to work for clients of the firm even after his retirement. In 1992 Hitt became board certified in the areas of Wills, Trusts, and Estates by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education, thereby expanding the services offered to clients.
Victoria S. Waller started with the firm in 2014 and is following in the footsteps of her predecessors. She is committed to further establishing Generations of Trust by educating clients. The firm works primarily in the areas of wills, trusts, estate and trust administration, powers of attorney, living wills, health care directives, and other areas of estate planning.
